Road Safety Rules in

India
For Pedestrians
Always walk on the footpath.
If there is no footpath walk on the right margin of the road.
Obey the traffic rules.
Always cross the road by zebra crossing.
 Look at your right, left and again right.
Ensure that no vehicle is approaching while you cross the road.
For Drivers

Never drink and drive.


Always wear seat belt.
Never break red signal.
Always drive in speed limit.
Be extra careful in bad weather or poor driving condition.

Traffic signals are lights used to control the movement of traffic. They are
placed on road at intersections and crossings.

Do not use cell phones when driving. It is illegal and extremely dangerous.
Don’t run on roads.
Don’t hurry.
Never put your hand outside the window.
Pay attention to road signs and markings.

Road safety is very important nowadays as there has been too much
of increase in vehicles on road and it becomes crucial that we follow
the traffic rules and laws and save ourselves and our families from
road accidents. Also making other people aware of road safety rules
could make our roads safe.
