THE PERCEPTION OF THE
GRADE 10 STUDENTS OF
C.I.T.C.I TOWARDS THE SENIOR
HIGH PROGRAM
INTRODUCTION

What is Senior High School?


Senior High School covers the last two years of the Kto12 program and includes
grades 11 and 12. In SHS, students will go through a core curriculum and subjects
under a track of their choice.
President Benigno S. Aquino III signed on 2010 the K to 12 law, a landmark piece of
legislation that institutionalizes 12 years of basic education in the secondary level,
making it responsive to global educational standards. The law, which introduces two
additional years in secondary education and makes Kindergarten mandatory among
five-year olds, is expected to give graduates better choices in the field of work or
further education.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

A survey to examine the Perception of the Grade X Students of CITCI towards the Senior High
Program.
This Study Aims to answer these following Questions:
 Are you aware of the SHS program?
 Do you agree with it?
 As a Grade 10 students how do you find this program? Why?
 What do you think is the purpose of this program?
 Are you aware that this program offer’s Academic and Tech. Voc. Track?
 If you are given the chance to choose among these two tracks, what will you choose and
why?
1. Are you aware of Senior High School program?

YES or NO?
Answer:

 100% of the student are aware of the Senior High Program


2. Do you agree with it? Why?

YES or NO?
Answer:

 90% of the students agree to this curriculum


They agreed because:
- they think that this program gives opportunity to those students who can’t
afford the expenses in college, to still got a descent work better than being a sanitary engineer
or sales man/woman.
- then it helps those students who want to proceed to college by enhancing their skills
through the track that they offer in this program and
-gives them opportunity to choose what career or field they want to pursue or where
they think they fit in.
Answer:

 10% of the student disagree


They disagreed because:
-they think that this program is just a waste of time and can caused more expenses
especially to those student who want to proceed to college.
3. As a Grade 10 students how do you find this
program? Why?

 It is quite successful, for it helps every youth in this country to become a successful
citizen that may result progress to our country.
 It is very helpful especially to those unfortunate, because through this program they can
still find a better job.
 They find it too risky- having this additional two years for secondary education would
give the more struggles.
4. What do you think is the purpose of this
program?

 The purpose of this program is to enhance the educational system of the Philippines.
 To cope up with the universal academic standard of the world.
 To assure a working job for every student who may only graduate within the secondary
level.
 To be a professional when one applies as a professional in a foreign country.
 To attain academic goals.
5. Are you aware that this program offer Academic
and Tech. Voc. Track?

YES or NO
Answer:

 100% of the students are aware that this program offers two tracks, the Academic and
Tech. Voc track’s.
6. If you are given a chance to choose among these two
tracks, what will you choose and why?

 85% of the students choose the Academic Track.


 15% of the students choose Technical Vocational Track.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The purpose of this study is:

• To know if the Grade 10 students of CITCI are aware and agrees with the senior high
program.
• The chance for them to explore and to find out what careers they are interested in,
cultivating their five core abilities - self exploration, career exploration, observation and
imitation, simulation and hands-on skills - in an effort to assist them in developing their
careers and
• To know if the Grade 10 students in CITCI will be ready to step in Senior High.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Learning is the aspect of development that connotes modification of behavior, skills and
knowledge that results from practice and experience which sought for quality education.

What can make this study important is that it helps our Grade 10 students here in CITCI to
slowly accept the fact that the Philippines has already adopted this K to 12 curriculum.

The generalization of this present study would be a great contribution to the vast knowledge in
relation to students achievements.
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

We conducted our study only to the Grade 10 students of Candelaria Institute of


Technology of Cabadbaran Inc. that covers two sections; St. Paul and St. Peter.
Conclusion:

Based on the answers that we’ve gathered during our survey, we sorted out that the Grade X
students of Candelaria Institute of Technology of Cabadbaran Inc. are now ready to be the
next Senior High School Student.
