Performance Task
In this activity, you are going to draft the basic flared skirt
pattern of the children’s wear. Follow the procedures on how to this
activity in your module.
Use the sample computed measurement that will be needed in
doing this task.
Manila paper or any available resources that you have in your
home for the pattern activity is acceptable.
D. GENERALIZATION/ SYNTHESIS
Accurate body measurement is very important in drafting flared skirt
pattern for children’s wear because it is the foundation of a pattern. Your
garment design and accuracy will not be accurate and fit to the wearer if the
measurement was not measured properly.
It is also very important to follow the procedures on how to draft the
flared skirt pattern because you will find it easy to do the task.

Pre Assessment
Directions: Write TRUE if the given statement is correct and FALSE if
wrong.
1. In cutting the final pattern, there are no standard procedures to follow.
2. Cut pattern pieces along the stitching lines.
3. Check seam allowance if properly drafted.
4. Mistakes in cutting the pattern will not affect the style of the garment.
5. Before cutting the final pattern, sort out all the pattern pieces that are
required for the item you are making.

B. PRESENTATION
1. Identify which size to be used for different areas of your body. Use a
colored pen and trace the cutting lines.
2. Use a sharp pair of scissor in cutting the pattern. If you slip and make
a cut where you shouldn’t have, simply tape it back into place. The
important thing is that the shape is retained and that you can still
read the markings. Cut carefully along the cutting lines.
3. Check for seam allowances. Notice the grain lines.
Directions: Read the sentence carefully. Fill in the blanks with the
correct term to complete the statement.
C. APPLICATION
Performance Task
In this activity, you are going to cut the basic FRONT, BACK and
FLARED pattern of the children’s wear. Follow the procedures on how
to this activity in this module.
Safety first must be observed while doing the task.
D. GENERALIZATION/ SYNTHESIS
Following the procedures on how to cut the final front, back pattern of
simple blouse of children’s dress and final flared skirt pattern will find the
activity much easier and well performed. It is also very important to read
each step by step instruction for you to be guided while performing the
cutting pattern activity.
E. POST-ASSESSMENT
Directions: Write TRUE if the given statement is correct and if
FALSE, give the correct term that will make the statement correct.
1. Mistakes in cutting the pattern would affect the style of the garment.
2. After cutting out, sort out all the pattern pieces that are required for the
item you are making.
3. If there are no more adjustment to be made, just trim patterns to your
size.
4. Check for the stitching line before cutting the pattern.
5. The important thing in cutting final pattern is that the shape is retained
and that you can still read the markings.
