Essay title: People should not use cars in the city centre
There is usually a lot of traffic in city centres, especially at rush hour. Many people enjoy using cars to travel around cities, while
others think that they have too many disavantages.
Paragraph 1
(Arguments for the essay statement)
On the one hand, cars create a lot of pollution. This makes cities less pleasant to live in or visit, and it can also cause
health problems. What is more, a lot of traffic can make city centres dangerous places to cyclists and pedestrians.
Paragraph 2
(Arguments against the essay statement)
On the other hand, going by car can be a very convenient way to travel. Public transport is not always very reliable, and it often
takes more time to reach your destination. In addition, travelling in a crowded bus or train is not very enjoyable for passengers.
Conclusion
(A personal opinion)
Overall, I agree with the statement. In my opinion, city centres would be much cleaner and quieter places if we
banned cars. However, I think that cities also need to have good public transport systems as an alternative.
TIP: When writing an essay you will need to use a more
formal style of writing. Use linkers to do so.
