A short description of lining tools

Chapter-1

List of some tools which are used


before breaking an old lining
A partition plate is used for supporting a
cooling fan on the furnace.

furnace before breaking an old lining.

The T- gauge is used to ensure the
former is central in the coil by checking
the gap between the former and coil
grout in the bottom of the furnace. It
also used to measure the diameter of
the furnace before breaking the old
lining.
In BISCO. There are four different
diameter T-gauges are used as 56,57,61
and 69 inches respectively.

The magnetic separator is used
to identify the hidden scrap
into inside the lining wall or
inside the bottom of the lining.

This tools are used to compact the refractory powder


into the bottom as well as spout and top cap of the
furnace.

It is used inside the bottom of the


lining for earthing the system.

It is used to adjust the position of


the former between the furnace
inside and lining walls.

This wooden wedges are uses for the former is centrally


positioned and hold the top of the former in place.
