ARCHIMEDES’ PRINCIPLE IN

SUBMARINE
By.
OBJECTIVE

■ To study the usage of fluid mechanics study in industry.

■ To understand the working principle applied
■ To learn the calculation involved in the selected industrial fluid system
SUMMARY

Archimedes' principle, principle that states that a body immersed in a fluid is buoyed up by

a force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid. The principle applies to both floating and
submerged bodies and to all fluids, i.e., liquids and gases. In this case the report will be
explaining on the usage of the principle in submarine. This principle is mostly about the
density of the submarine and the density of the fluid that is sea. The submarine can
submerged into the sea because it’s density is larger than the sea’s density. The submarine
fill its ballast tank to increase the density that is by displacing the air inside the tank. To
resurface the submarine, the ballast tank will be fill with air thus decreases its density.
