Superstructure of High

rise residential building

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING 2
Procedure of execution of construction project
Flow chart of main executers of construction project
CONCRETE
M35 and M40 grade of concrete for slab and also used in
column and beam as well as slab.
These grades of concrete represents the characteristic strenght of concrete
whereas 'M' denotes mix.
Ready Mix concrete is purchased from the nearby RMC plant.
Testing of concrete is done by casting cubes.
Casting of concrete
Casting of concrete with the help of concrete pipe and their
pump.
Framework
A hollow core slab which is precast
and installed on site with a crane. In
high rise buildings and skyscrapers,
thinner, pre-cast concrete slabs are
slung between the steel frames to
form the floors and ceilings on each
level.
Reinforcement bending
The bending of reinforcement bars
Minimum bending pin diameter for
bars. The minimum diameter Øm to
which a bar is bent, shall be such to
avoid bending cracks to the bar and
ensure the integrity of concrete inside
the bent of the bar where large forces
appear.
Lap joint
Lapping can be defined as the overlapping of
two bars side by side to upto the design
length.
This amount of overlapping between two bars
is called “lap length”. Lapping is usually done
where minimum bending stress is
encountered. In general, lap length is 50d
which means 50 times the bar diameter, if
both bars are of same diameter.
Retaining wall
A retaining wall is a structure
designed and constructed to
resist the lateral pressure of
soil, when there is a desired
change in ground elevation
that exceeds the angle of
repose of the soil. A
basement wall is thus one
kind of retaining wall.
Shear wall
Shear wall is a structural member
used to resist lateral forces i.e. parallel
to the plane of the wall. For slender
walls where the bending deformation
is more, Shear wall resists the loads
due to Cantilever Action. In other
words, Shear walls are vertical
elements of the horizontal force
resisting system.
Tower crane
Tower cranes are a common
fixture at any major construction
site. ... The construction crew
uses the tower crane to lift steel,
concrete, large tools like
acetylene torches and
generators, and a wide variety of
other building materials.
Conclusion
• Learn the steps of construction.
• Authorities of executers.
• Casting of different structural members.
• Basic idea of layting out of reinforcement.
• Learnt, how tower crane works.
