FINANCIAL SERVICES: Industry Overview
 Thesector comprises of commercial banks, insurance companies, non-banking financial
companies, co-operatives, pension funds, mutual funds and other smaller financial entities.

 However, the financial sector in India is predominantly a banking sector with commercial
banks accounting for more than 64 per cent of the total assets held by the financial system.

 The Government of India has introduced several reforms to liberalise, regulate and enhance
this industry.

FINANCIAL SERVICES: Market Size
 The MF industry’s Assets Under Management (AUM) has grown from Rs 10.96 trillion in October
2014 to Rs 28.18 trillion in January 2020.

 Another crucial component of India’s financial industry is the insurance industry. The total first year
premium of life insurance companies reached Rs 214,673 crore during FY19.

 Along with the secondary market, the market for Initial Public Offers (IPOs) has also witnessed rapid
expansion. In FY19, Rs 14,674 crore has been raised from Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

 Investosure was founded in 2010, as private fund lender in Sonipat, Haryana.

 In 2012, they entered into different investments avenues with motive to provide more financial
stability to people who finds it difficult.

 The company has expanded to 5 locations in North India and has a team strength of more than
250+ experts in stock exchange, insurance and mutual funds

Background & History
 In 2010 Mr. Ramdhari Hooda an ex govt. official started lending out funds to people on an
interest basis as private fund lender in Sonipat Haryana.

 In2012, his friend Mr.Yashvir Singh who was working in Canada as PMS consultant, came
back to India, they started a venture together to provide PMS (Portfolio Management
Services).

 Their PMS services are not only available for high income class people but common people
as well.

 Job Description:
o To generate lead by selling different products of the company like Health policy, Life
Insurance Policy and Term Plans (TP) or for financial planning.
o To also make customers aware about the insurance policies offered by Max life insurance.
o To manage the portfolio of the customers.

 Youths have changed the pattern of making investments whereas people of age more than
40 are still preferring FD’s and bonds.

 Almost 1/3rd of the people are investing their
money.

Findings
 MF’s are preferred the most by the investors because of the liquidity they possess.
 Insurance sector is still on a boom as their have not really been affected by the COVID-19
scenario.
 There is a fall of 10-20% in the prices of property in the real estate sector.

 Maharashtra and Delhi has seen a hike in the number of health and life insurance policies
bought by the consumers.
 8.09% of returns are given by the Max Life Insurance company in the recent year.

 During the lockdown because of COVID-19 the trading on Demat Account across the
country has increased significantly.
 Investorsare still investing their money at the time of crisis as they are seeing this as an
opportunity to increase their wealth.
 The prices of gold are rising as the people have got more faith in the stability of the price of
gold.
 Reason why Indigo incurred losses more than the previous year’s profit.
 Reason for the value of crude oil became negative during lockdown.

 The company should have a more dynamic approach in reaching to their customers.
