NCS Record label

The Founder of NCS (no Copyright sound) is Billy Woodford.

This record label is aimed towards a younger audience with basic knowledge of technology and social
media, as this record label is specialised and available only on YouTube as a channel but is still owns the
copyright to their releases and specific permission is required.
NCS is an independent record label based out of London UK, working with artists from around the world. A
few names of which are; Alan Walker, Sub Urban, Unknown Brain, Syn Cole, Koven and many more. They
release predominantly electronic/pop music and other electronic genres such as House, Future Bass, Trap,
Dubstep, Drum & Bass and more.
What makes NCS different is that they allow and encourage content creators to use NCS releases for free on
their YouTube video content, without the risk of a claim or a strike. This is an unconventional model to the
traditional label industry that doesn’t allow content creators to use their music freely. The benefit of this
model is that it allows them to get more exposure for their music by user-generated content on YouTube.
The label side of NCS works with bedroom producers and now some bigger artists too. “We’re a traditional
label in one sense in the fact that they commercially release music, and that they have artists who they pay.
But they also have their promotional platform within YouTube, SoundCloud, Facebook and socials. They’ve
created this bubble where they can release music commercially and promote it at the same time.”
