Personal letters are letters you write to someone you know.


PERSONAL LETTERS USUALLY USE THE
FOLLOWING WORD :
• Dear, • Give my regards to your
sister.
• Best wishes, • I look forward to
• We have lost contact for hearing from you soon.

PERSONAL LETTERS, ALSO KNOWN AS FRIENDLY
LETTERS AND SOCIAL NOTES NORMALLY HAVE SIX
PARTS.

LANGUAGE FEATURES
 Simple present tense : is used to express present feelings
and senses, habitual action, general truth.
Example :
• we feel a lot of loyalty to the company.
• She goes to Bali resort today.
Formula :

S + Verb(s/es) + O + Adverb of time/Complement


• Simple past tense : is used to describe something that
happened at a specific time in the past.
Example :
• I saw Elsa and her brother Rudi in the grocery
store yesterday.
• They watched our performance last Saturday.
Formula :
S + Verb2 + O + Adverb of time/Complement
