How it Works
After reading a passage, teaching a unit, or discussing an idea,
ask the students to come up with a dramatic representation of
some aspect of the lesson.

The student groups can all be working on different topics or all

working on the same topic differently.

Give time for development and rehearsal and assign a director or

“painter” for each group.

Students will present the “pictures” for the class

Arts Integration and Differentiation
The big idea behind differentiating instruction is to reach all
learners by responding to their readiness levels, interests,
and learning profiles. One sure-fire way to differentiate
instruction based on interest is to employ arts integration.
Arts integration is an approach to teaching in which
students construct and demonstrate understanding through
an art form. Students engage in a creative process that
connects an art form and another subject area and meets
evolving objectives in both.
