TYPES OF

CONCEPT PAPER
• Concept papers are usually
requirements for every academic
program or for a particular
research project.
• According to Piccinini (2011), only
two kinds of concept exist: implicit
and explicit.
Implicit
-“implied” or understood though not plainly or directly expressed.

Example:
She implicitly said she likes yellow shoes
by saying she likes all colors but red.
Explicit
- to fully and clearly express something, leaving nothing implied.

Example:
He said explicitly, you will not attend
that concert.
• The difference of the two terms can be
detected. Implicit is used to express the
implied meaning that does not exist.
• On the other hand, explicit expresses the
actual meaning of the sentence.
