OPEN ENROLLMENT CONSIDERATIONS
• Parent/Grandparent “Pride and Joy” are the children/grandchildren the
parents want to send to Stewartville Public Schools for great
educational opportunities!

• More than 22% of the OE students are children of SPS Alumni!

• OE parents have a positive economic influence on local businesses!

• For every OE student we deny, we do not collect $6000 x 13 years =


$78,000 x 2 students (avg./family) = $156,000 x 10 families =

COMMUNITY SURVEY CONCLUSIONS
There is a strong support for a school bond referendum
among district voters.

When all four of the statements were presented to survey


participants, more than 70% were likely to support a bond
referendum.

To win majority support, the cost of the bond referendum


should be set at or below $100 per year for a home with a
market value of $150,000.
COMMUNITY SURVEY CONCLUSIONS

68% of those surveyed, think that the district has done an


above average or excellent job ensuring the safety and
security of students and staff.

The perception of the District is very positive.

32.1% believe the teachers are the best thing about the
Stewartville Public Schools.
