ON
SINGLE SHAFT PHLAUER
MIXTURE
What is Single Shaft Phlauer Mixture :- Single Shaft Phlauer Mixture is a type
of special Mixture, that are used for mixing of any powder or granules, in this
machine the major part are the U Shape Chamber, Rotors , rotors Drive,
Pneumatic cylinders and FRL unit etc.
Rotors rotes in clock way direction that the paddle of large radius push away the
powder from the drive end. The smaller radius pushes the same power to towards
the drive end. As such continuous mixing takes place

Bottom of the mixture a gate is given for the purpose of discharge of material after
blending i.e. operated by two pneumatic cylinder with the help of liver.

Rotor of the machine is connected with three stage helical gear box and helical
gear is connected with a 60 HP induction motor.

after getting the complete batch in hopper ( 100 HP 5 ) material is deliver to single
shaft phlauer mixture via 100 CPG 16, batch blender will mix the material and
make it a homogenous mix, one batch would be complete in 4 min ( 1 min for
feeding +2 min of blending +1 min for discharge) ,after set time period this mix
will become homogenous and this homogenous mixture shall transfer to storage
hopper for packing
Main Parts of the Machine
 Gear Box
 Motor
 Coupling
 U Shaped Chamber
 Discharge Gate
 SS Rotors
 Pneumatic Cylinder
 FRL Unit
Helical Gear Box
What is Gear : -Gear is a transmission element, where it transfers power, torque from one
shaft to another Shaft.

Parallel Helical Gear : - Parallel helical gears is a

type of gear that are used for transmission of
large power on high speed and less noise. In
this gear the two meshing gears may be mounted
on parallel or intersecting shafts. The teeth on
helical gear are cut at an angle to the gear
axis as shown photos , Angle is know as
“helix angle” The helix angle usually ranges
between 15º and 20º.

In Our machine parallel helical gear is used the

gear ratio is 86.5/1
Motor
 What is motor: - Electric motor is an electrical machine that converts
electrical energy into mechanical energy

 Motor Power : 60 HP
 RPM : 1770
 Voltage: 440V +/- 10 % , 3 Phase
 Frequency: 60 Hz +/-5 %
 Frame Size:
 Bearing Size :
Coupling

 In this machine two flange type coupling are used

 Bearing lubricant should be replace every 6 months or earlier
according to the operating condition.
U Shaped Chamber
 U Shape Chamber is a chamber made up of MS with SS 304 lining, where
material would be mixed,
Discharge Gate
 Discharge door is the door which will to discharged of mixed material
from the U shaped Chamber,
 This is the single door fitted at the bottom of the mixture and operated
through two pneumatic cylinders
 Operation for opening and closing of the door is control by pneumatic
value.
 Below 6 Bar pressure should be mentioned in each cylinders
 Air supplied should be free from water dust moisture and foreign
material
SS Rotor

 Rotor is the moving component of this machine and have several SS

blades those are arrange in a particular fashion, i.e could push the
power in one end to another end.

 When rotor will rotes with the drive in a clock way direction that the
paddles of large radius push way the powder from the drive end, the
smaller radius pushes the some powder towards the drive end, as such
continuous mixing takes place.
Pneumatic Cylinders:- Pneumatic cylinder(s) (sometimes known as air cylinders)
are mechanical devices which use the power of compressed air to produce a force in a
reciprocating linear motion

In our machine two pneumatic cylinder ( 6 bar ) are using to open and closed discharge
door , which will regulate through a FRL unit.

Main part of the cylinder is : -

FRL Unit: What is filter Regulator Lubricator
Air leaving a compressor is hot, dirty, and wet which
can damage and shorten the life of downstream
equipment, such as valves and cylinders. Before
air can be used it needs to be filtered, regulated
and lubricated. e.i total unit is know as FRL unit

Filter : - An air line filter cleans compressed air.

It strains the air and traps solid particles (dust, dirt, rust)
and separates liquids (water, oil) entrained in the
compressed air. Air line filters remove contaminants
from pneumatic systems, preventing damage to equipment

Pressure regulators; -  Pressure regulators reduce and control fluid pressure in compressed air systems. Regulators are also frequently referred to as
PRVs (pressure reducing valves) Regulators have a control spring which acts on a diaphragm to regulate the air pressure. The rating of this control
spring determines the pressure adjustment range of the regulator

Lubricator :
A lubricator adds controlled quantities of oil into a compressed air system to reduce the friction of moving components.
Maintenance

 All the bearing should be sealed, & Grease nipple should be fitted on
plumber block.
 Bearing Lubricant should be replaced every Six months or earlier
according to the operating condition .
 Pneumatic connection should be fitted properly
 All nuts and bolts should be tighten
 Every fixed time frame bearing temperature should be recorded
 In the gear box oil should be mentioned
