INTRODUCTION
• In the golden age of Artificial Intelligence, healthcare is the new frontier of research and
development. Surgeons are routinely using robotic assists to operate with less
invasiveness and more precision.
• AI applications in the field of healthcare aren’t just limited to diagnosing a disease, they
also include its possible treatment.
• The advancement in computer technology has encouraged the researchers to develop
software for assisting doctors in making decision without consulting the specialists
directly.
• This paper explores the potential of artificial intelligence techniques in diagnosing the
medical related issues and its consequences.
APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN
MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS
 There are many different types of clinical tasks that required expert systems. Following
of artificial intelligence applications are:
• Image recognition & interpretation;
• Diagnostic Assistance;
• Generating Reminders & Alerts;
• Keeping proper record of health.
MEDICAL IMAGING
• One of the newest areas for using AI Systems to both automate the workflow for
efficiency as well as assisting in diagnosis is in Medical Imaging.
• Medical images, such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI scan, can be used to diagnose a
variety of diseases. Radiologists currently review such scans for diagnosis. Often,
depending on the quality of images, radiologists can make errors due to the limitations of
the human eye or the lack of experience in a specific disease area. Review of the images
often takes time.

ADVANTAGES
• Fast & Accurate diagnostics;
• Reduce Human errors;
• Virtual Presence;
• Better Serving Rural Communities;
• No Breaks(works 24x7);
• New Inventions.
DISADVANTAGES

• Can’t think out of box;

• Can’t feel Compassion and Sympathy;
• High Costs;
• Makes human lazy;
• High dependence on machines;
• Reduced employment.
CONCLUSION
We have concluded that artificial intelligence plays an important role in medical diagnosis as well as
it has various hindrances as AI have a low error rate compared to humans, if coded properly. They
won't be affected by hostile environments, thus able to complete dangerous tasks. They can think
logically without emotions, making rational decisions with less or no mistakes where as it cost a lot of
money and time to build, rebuild, and repair, humans become too dependent on AI and lose their
mental capacities and there will be no improvement with experience.
The study found that, in the past few years, AI has become more accurate of identifying disease
diagnosis in these images and has become a more viable source of diagnostic information. According
to the researchers, out of 10 studies that compared deep learning models and healthcare professionals
