INTRODUCTION
• Description
DESCRIPTION
Medical diagnosis is an important
task that has to be performed in
the most accurate and efficient
way possible. However, all doctors
are unfortunately not equally
skilled in every subspeciality and
are a scarce resource in multiple
areas. A system designed for
automated medical diagnosis
would enhance quality medical
care and reduce costs.

• Working
• Techniques
WORKING
• Observations are made on the patients, and data is
recorded in form of variables.
• System construct a differential diagnosis, and by a
probability model, conditional probability for each
outcome under current observation is determined.
• Each possible next variable is considered. The
expected value of the system prediction with this
variable observed is then calculated, from which
current maximum value is subtracted before making
an additional observation. Then cost of observation
is subtracted to reach to net value of information for
the variable. The variable with maximum of all of
these is then best next observation to make.
• System looks one step ahead. The steps above are
repeated until nothing more can be recommended.

TECHNIQUES
• Advancements in AI techniques lead to its
successful applications in healthcare for
accurate diagnosis. AI systems have the
potential to eventually replace human doctors.
AI methods are trained in such a way that can
have ability of self-learning, error-correcting,
and producing results with high accuracy.
• Three AI techniques are used in healthcare:
• Fuzzy logic
• Machine learning
• Deep learning

7
TECHNIQUES
Significant AI methods in the medical field
named as a Rule-based intelligent system,
provides a set of if-then rules in healthcare.
•MACHINE LEARNING
The conventional automated diagnostic
method used a machine-learning algorithm
and clinical experts manually fetched features
in diagnosis reports. But it became difficult to
extract features from large dataset. Hence,
suffering with accuracy and efficiency.
•DEEP LEARNING
Deep learning based techniques can
extract features manually without human
intervention, only condition is to make precise
decisions in which testing data can be accurate.
