Are those words which are used to limit, count


and measure count nouns.
E .g. He wants an apple.

Is an article used to limit a noun.
OR
Definite article is used to point out some
particular person, place or thing.
Definite article is one in number (The).
E .g. I saw the teacher:
(means some particular teacher.)
The is the abbreviation form of this, that, these,
those.
In English grammar (The) is used for the
following purposes.
1. Is used before both count and non count
nouns to limit the noun.
E .g. The book, The books, The water.
2. Is used before those words which are already
known.
E .g. I washed the car.
(you know which car: my car.)
2. Indefinite Articles:
Are those articles which are used to show
indefinite person, place and thing.
E .g. I saw a teacher.
(any teacher not a specific one.)
A or An is abbreviation form of adjective one.
A or An means one.
3. Zero Article:
Not using of an article is called zero article.
E .g. we love Afghanistan.
