STRUGGLES IN LIFE
Orphaned at early age and for him to
get by everyday, he needed to work
hard.
He was working at a drugstore in Manila
but was unfortunately destroyed during the
World War II.

He struggled and work hard he thrive to

live. Then took the opportunity to sell
what people need after war which is to
cure illness.
START BUSINESS
Que was only 24 when he persevered with
P100 (Dh7) investment and sold medicine in
a pushcart in Manila in 1945 when it was
severely damaged by World War 11.

Using a pushcart, he started selling the

medicine he got from a drug dealer in
Bambang Street. He peddled around the
city to sell anti-biotic, sulfa drug at an
affordable price.
ROAD TO SUCCESS

 Because of his hard work and dedication

he was able to save enough money to
start his first drug store in 1945 which he
named MERCURY DRUG.
BECOME SUCCESSFUL

 Mercury embarked on a 24-hour service in 1965.

 Expanded into convenience store in the 80s
 Established drive-through sites in 2012
 Launched mobile application for medical
prescription in 2015, Forbes added.
 His profit was able to grow the business into
1,000 stores around the Philippines, creating the
country’s largest drug store chain, Mercury Drug
Corporation.

Que was also a recipient of a number of titles
and awards, including the 1973 President's
Award, for being the most prestigious drugs
 
manufacturer and distinguished
  civic leader.

An honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from
UST in 2015.
