Why It is Science Fiction
 Itis a science fiction because it shows about the
future and it tells about life in outer space and
has principles of science. It is also completely
unbelievable, because it then ventures into the
fantasy.
Sub genre
 Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic - Apocalyptic wars
and Alien Invasion is seen in the movie in which
extraterrestrials invade the Earth or destroy the
planet altogether.
 Space Opera - majority of the movie may not happen
in outer space but the story has involvement with the
outer space.
 Military – involvement of the military and conflict set
in space.
 ELEMENTS
Plot
In the twenty-third century, the evil threatens all life in
the Universe. The only hope for mankind is the Fifth
Element, Which goes to Earth every five thousand years
to protect people with four rocks of four elements: fire,
water, Earth and air. A Mondoshawan spacecraft will
return to the earth to bring back the fifth element but
was destroyed by the evil Mangalores.
- On the other hand a team of scientists is using the DNA of the
Fifth Element remnants to establish the perfect Leeloo. But she
escaped from the laboratory and was knocked down by a taxi
driver and former elite commando Major Korben Dallas who
helped him escape from police. Leeloo tells him that he must
meet Father Vito Cornelius in order to fulfill her mission.
Meanwhile, Evil employs greedy and cruel Jean-Baptiste
Emanuel Zorg and a group of Mangalores mercenaries to
retrieve the stones and prevent Leeloo's protection. But Korben
Dallas fell in love with Leeloo and decided to help her get the
reins.
SETTING:
Takes place in Egypt, the rest of the story
takes place in faraway modernized future
on both Earth planet and other planets in the
universe. And it is an integral setting
because the plot was happened in a very
detailed setting.
Characters
 Korben Dallas- The main protagonist of the movie. He is a retired major
from military forces. Upon retirement, Dallas worked as a Cab Driver.
However, despite being chased by police, the army hired him again to
retrieve the first four elements to prevent The Great Evil from consuming
Earth.
 Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg- He works for Mr. Shadow and has to stole
the stones for him.
 Leeloo – A supreme being of the universe and the humanized fifth
element. She was sent to Earth in corporeal form to become the Fifth
Element, the final piece of a powerful weapon to destroy the Great Evil.
Father Vito Cornelius - One of a long line of priests who
have passed down "the knowledge" of the The Great Evil,
and speaks the Divine Language that Leeloo is speaking.
Ruby Phod - A radio star, a a famous host of a 2 hour radio
show hosted on and sponsored by Fhloston Paradise. He is
very talkative
David - A young man, an heir of ancient knowledge.  He’s
the one who realizes how to turn on the stones having
sighed over one of it, which made it open.
STYLE/ MOOD/ TONE
The tone is both frightening and disturbing, and at the same
time funny and entertaining.
THEME

- Good and evil

The major theme of the movie is the battle between good and
evil. The forces of good have to overcome many difficulties
and hardship to protect the world from the evil.
- Love
The final scenes of the movie proved that love is the only thing
pure enough to overcome any evil, no matter how powerful it
might be. The fifth element symbolizes this feeling.
 
- Technology and Modernity
The movie is set in a faraway future. The technology of this time is
much more progressive than in ours: cars are not moving on the
ground but in the air, laboratories have technologies to make
from a sell a human body, and people have opportunity to fly to
another planet
