 Located at- Eastern part of Bhaktapur District
 Ward -1 to 9
 Area- Jhaukhel, Kharipati, Sudal , Thathali
 Mayor is Sem Prasad Mishra from ruling party.

 Unseasonal rain followed by hailstorm
 Drought
 Minor landslide
 Deforestation
Problems created by issue

 Destruction of crop by unseasonal rainfall with hailstorm

 Shortage of drinking water
 Blockage of highway (especially Nagarkot)

 Destruction of crop by unseasonal rainfall with hailstorm has been major problem
faced by people of this Palika.
 Shortage of water

 Though drinking water project was launched in Ward No. 7 and 8.

 It is not expected to sustain longer.
 The drinking water project was launched in 2065 B.S.but due to climate change
,deforestation . The people of this Palika are facing shortage of drinking water.
Blockage of highway

 Due to minor landslide and flood roads are not suitable to walk. It gets blocked
during rainy season but government is not showing concerned about it . It is also
hampering tourism economy of Nagarkot.
What efforts are taken by Palika

 Restrictions on constructing five star hotel (proposed) by Palika.

 Public participation for road management
What else can be done?

 Proper solid waste management in road side.

 Afforestation
 Concept of sustainable development
 Haphazard road construction should be stopped
 Terrace farming should be encouraged
 Plotting Barren land should be stopped
Project Cost

 Budget of at least around 5crores is required in order to construct the road,to to

buy plant for afforestation,to implement the landslide mitigation strategies.
