a crisis, when this differs from the
situation that prevailed prior to the

LinkedIn is an American business


and employment-oriented online
service that operates via websites
and mobile apps. Launched on May
5, 2003, it is mainly used for
professional networking, including

seekers posting their CVs.
The basic functionality of LinkedIn allows users to
create profiles, which for employees typically consist of
a curriculum vitae describing their work experience,
education and training, skills, and a personal photo.
Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates.
Users can find jobs, people and business opportunities
recommended by someone in one's contact network. Users
can save jobs that they would like to apply for. Users also
have the ability to follow different companies.

The site also enables members to make "connections" to each other


in an online social network which may represent real-
world professional relationships. Members can invite anyone to
become a connection. Users can obtain introductions to the
connections of connections (termed second-degree connections) and
connections of second-degree connections (termed third-degree
connections).

Glassdoor is a website where

anonymously review companies.
Glassdoor also allows users to
anonymously submit and view
salaries as well as search and
apply for jobs on its platform. In
2018, the company was acquired
by the Japanese firm, Recruit
Holdings, for US$1.2 billion.
Glassdoor launched its company ratings site in June 2008, as
a site that “collects company reviews and real salaries from
employees of large companies and displays them
anonymously for all members to see,” according
to TechCrunch. The company then averaged the reported
salaries, posting these averages alongside the reviews
employees made of the management and culture of the
companies they worked for—including some of the larger tech
companies like Google and Yahoo. The site also allows the
posting of office photographs and other company-relevant
media.

Fiverr serves to allow listing and applying for small one-

card" to "help with HTML, JavaScript, CSS,
and jQuery". Fiverr is a company built on the model of
listing temporary work positions. Freelancers work in a
variety of workplaces, ranging from home to office. Fiverr
serves as e-commerce platform to freelancers &
companies to sell their services by using their gigs. Gig is
basically an advertisement of services. Gig include all the
details of a services same like ecommerce products. The
pricing of Gigs depends on how much a seller earns per
completed task. The buyers buy services in the form of
gigs.

and 28 languages. In October 2010, Indeed.com
passed Monster.com to become the highest-traffic
job website in the United States.

associations, and company career pages. They
generate revenue by selling premium job posting
and resume features to employers and companies
hiring. In 2011, Indeed began allowing job seekers
to apply directly to jobs on Indeed's site and
offering resume posting and storage.

personal information theft. In less than two weeks, in
August 2007, Monster had numerous leaks that resulted
in the loss of millions of customers' data to identity
theft.Although Monster waited several days to announce
this leak (drawing heavy criticism), they subsequently
announced new security measures to prevent this from
happening again.
However, in January 2009, there was another large-scale
leak at its UK based site monster.co.uk,in which
demographic information of up to 4.5 million people was
obtained by hackers.
