 Introduction
Overpopulation is the condition which
occurs when there are large number of
population then there are resources to
support them.
It is an undesirable condition where the
no. of population exceeds the carrying
capacity of Earth.
 Causes
Better medical facilities
Better education opportunities
Decline in the death rate
Lack of family planning
Our population is growing at faster rate
because fewer people are dying due to better
health and medical facilities and better
education. On the other hand it disturbs the
life cycle of the nature by declining the death
rate. Every twenty minutes, the world adds
another 3,500 human lives.
Due to lack of education there is lack of family
planning. And this is the cause of
overpopulation.
 Advantages
• Industrial, Medical and Agricultural innovation:
Many innovations over the past 300 years are the
attributable to population Growth. These innovation are the
output of best education which is given to our youth. These
innovations include industrial, medical and agriculture.
• Economic Growth:
As the innovation give fast and good outputs in every field,
it increases the economy. Parents fulfill their basic needs
and also their luxuries such as food, education, sporting
goods, large houses with more bedrooms etc. In short a
growing population can generate economic growth.
 Disadvantages
•Food shortage:
The demand of agricultural supply increases as the growth
of population increases. As we know the overpopulation is the
condition where the no of people increases than the number of
resources.
•Property shortage:
Overpopulation is the condition in which number of people
are more than the space occupied by them on earth. It is the
cause of deforestation.
•Unemployment:
this is a huge disadvantage of overpopulation, as the
number of unemployment increases with the increase in
population. It is also cause of poverty and low standard of
living.
•Inflation:
the big disadvantage is the lack of food and resources. It
leads to the unhealthy behavior. There is an increase in the
demand of basic needs of individuals. This is called inflation.

Earlier population
• Earlier population is less. But due to
some causes it increases more and
more with time to time.
•There are more resources for the survival.
•There is increase no. of uneducated
people and less awareness about the
maintenance of life.

•Balance in the natural cycle of death and
living.

•There is 7 billion current population in the
world.
•There are less resources for the survival.
•There are no. of people who prefer
education. They have awareness about the
maintenance of life.

death and living by decreasing the death
rate.

inflation.
•There are many ways to control
