particular task. It also includes to whom the position reports, specifications such as the
qualifications needed by the person in the job, salary range for the position, etc

• This section is used when search is given for a particular skill to find out the right
candidate who has that skills.

• Skills are very important as different searches can be performed while locating for the
specific skills in the candidate. Searches can be performed on the basis of the skills
required for a specific job to get the right type of resume on the job portal.
How to understand the job description

• A job description is a list of the general tasks, or functions and responsibilities of a

position. it also includes to whom the position reports, specifications such as the
qualifications needed by the person in the job, salary range for the position, etc

• While reading the job description, understand the job title, location of the job, some
context about the position or work activities.

• Also look at any additional comments from the recruiters which will help in locating
the right resume.

routine materials, equipment, and services in Kimberly-Clark’s Supply Chain &
Logistics area that supports the North American Consumer Goods Division.”
Locating the right resume Continued….

By following the sequence given above, we can narrow down the search and come at the
specific resume with the right type of skills.
Locating the right resume
• First match the Basic qualification & job description and then go ahead with matching
the other preferred skills of the candidate.

• Basic qualification:- It refers to the minimum qualification required in the candidate’s

resume.
• Preferred/ desired skills:- Qualifications which are not minimum.
Example:- Experience working in excel is preferred.
Experience in reporting is desired or plus.

• Anything which is required over and above the basic qualification is called as
preferred or desired qualification. While searching for the resume, first match the
basic qualification and job description. Once it is matched in the resume, then go
ahead and match the other preferred skills in the resume.

• Basic qualification must match with the resume. Ensure the context of work
experience match with the context of job description.

• A candidate is good to source as far as the resume is matching the basic

qualification. ( seek recruiter's advice)
Locating the right resume Continued….
• Searching the right resume for right kind of job position.

• The locator should know the right keyword to search the right kind of resume.

• Keywords can be found by reviewing the basic qualification and job description.

• The locator will get most of the relevant keywords from basic qualification and the job
description.

• If the keywords are given correctly, the resumes can be searched properly and we
can narrow down the searches and can get the specific resumes suitable to the skills.

• Keywords can also be taken out from the skills mentioned in the requirements by the
recruiters.

• Keyword is nothing but the different types of words which a candidate might write on
the resume to show his/her skills such as techniques, leader, analytical, service and
so on.
Locating the right resume Continued….

• It is important to match the job description with the resume. Different keywords can be
obtained from the job description also.

• If the resume matches with the basic qualification but does not match with the job
description, ask the recruiters whether it is feasible to source such resumes or not.

• If the basic qualification and job description is matching, then it is not necessary to
match the preferred skills of the candidate.

• While locating the resume by skills of the candidate, do not mention anything which
can not be validated such as strong verbal and written communication, problem
solving etc. We would not know how good the candidate is in solving the problem or in
communication.

• Phrases should be limited to unique terms.

• Job titles are very important while searching the resume.

Example:- “An outstanding opportunity to assist in the purchase and follow-up of
assigned routine materials, equipment, and services in Kimberly-Clark’s Supply Chain
& Logistics area that supports the North American Consumer Goods Division.”
• Purchase order placement, follow-up, and solicitation of quotations from suppliers.
• Assist in sourcing and supplier selection to ensure customer needs are fulfilled
effectively and efficiently.
• Resolution of invoice problems, claims, and complaints.

requested.

anything near to that.

Location
• Location plays very important role in making the decision, whether to source or not to
source the resume.

• People in USA are ready to travel minimum 50miles.

• While searching for the resume, it is very important to see that from where the
candidate is coming.

• If it is more than 50 miles, don’t source such resume as it will be disqualified.

• If a specific location is given in the job description, source the candidate from that
location only.

• Location is very important as candidate will be traveling on the daily basis.

• By knowing the candidate location distance, we can determine whether to source the
candidate or not.
How to find out the location.
• To find out whether the candidate is within the 50 miles radius or not, use
www.mapquest.com.

• If in job description, the location is given as Chester, PA and we get a matching resume
from Philadelphia, PA. We can enter the city names or zip codes & click on search. The
portal will give the distance between two locations and the time.

In this scenario, the distance is 18.31miles and estimated time is 26 minutes. We can source
the resume. Please note that the distance can be low, but sometimes the estimated time is
more then avoid sourcing such candidates as they need to travel more to reach the place.

this training module, please make as per
