TEACHING METHODS,
TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES
 There are different types of teaching
method.
 Teacher-centered method- where the teacher is in
actively involved in teaching while the learners
are in a passive, receptive mode listening as
the teacher teaches.
 Learner-centered method- an approach that places
the learner at the centre of the learning.
 CONTENT-FOCUSED METHODS
In this category of methods, both the teacher and
the learners have to fit into the content that is
taught. Generally, this means the information and
skills to be taught are regarded as sacrosanct or
very important. A lot of emphasis is laid on the
clarity and careful analyses of content. 
STRATEGIES \ TECHNIQUE
1. DISCUSSION- is a method a method of
teaching whereby a teacher and a learners
together engage, in a cooperative examination
and comparison of views in order to clarify
issued and contribute to the learners
understanding.
2. DEBATE- is used as a discussion methods
when there are two sides of an issue- the pro
and the co or against.

3. ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE- this is a small
discussion group seated face to face around a table
without an audience.
4. LECTURE FUROM-in this strategy, the
participants state opinion, ask question, or
contribute additional information following a
formal lecture by an authority I the subject under
discussion.
5. LABORATORY METHOD- reffered to as
‘learning by doing’ this tesching method utilizes
experimentation to discover/verify facts and
investigate scientific relationships.
