Production Process of Making a Sweater

It consists on following fourteen steps

Production Process of Making a Sweater

Ecru Yarn:
Yarn is purchased in ecru form as it is going
to be used in the knitting unit to knit the panels.

Dyed / dyeing:
Right after purchase ecru yarn is moved
for dyeing in the required colors.
And some time already dyed yarn in required colour is purchased.

Moving to store:
After dyeing or purchasing dyed yarn it moves to store.
Knitting

Knitting unit of FSL is having latest knitting machines of


German company “Stoll”.
These machines have the ability to be set for even the whole day of production
through its software program called “Sirix”.
Required design and pattern can be designed very quickly on “Sirix” and any
kind of designing can be done on it.
Knitting

Machines of Stoll Company are the best knitting machines in the world for their
knitting quality and speed of knitting.

Knitting

This knitting unit consists on one knitting officer responsible for designing on
Sirix and to keep check and balance, 1 shift in charge, 1 operator of each
machine per shift and 1 quality operator.

•Weighting the knitted Pannels.


Washing

Equipments being used in this unit are as follows;

Washing machines 2

Hydro 2
Washing

a) When panels came in this unit first those are put in the washing machines
and soap (Soft HRS 1000) is used in it.
b) When washing is completed then panels are put in Hydro. Its basic
purpose is to squeeze the panels. It is of a 30-35 horse power.
c) Then they are move to the dryer. Its purpose is to dry the panels. So fabric
in it is being dried on almost 100 C.
d) After that panels move to the pressing unit.
Pressing

•Fourteen press tables


Cutting

Working of cutting department is as;


a) One person is cutting the over lock which was done in the kachi.
b) After over lock is cut 2 persons starts opening the kachi to separate the
front and back.
c) Then rest three persons start cutting the panels as according to the pattern
provided by the sampling master.
d) After when the cutting is done, these cutted panels are moved for
stitching.
Stitching

Operations in stitching:

An 8 to 9 step procedure it varies with the design.


Clipping

Cutting of extra threads.


Again Pressing, Quality, Packaging
