DOUBLE
INTEGRALS.
(a) Double Integrals over Rectangles.
Theorem 1: Fubini's Theorem (First Form).
If f(x, y) is continuous throughout the rectangular region R: a ≤ x ≤ b, c ≤ y ≤ d,
then:
(b) Double Integrals over General Regions.
Theorem 2: Fubini's Theorem (Stronger Form).
Let f(x, y) be continuous on a region R:
1. If R is defined as a ≤ x ≤ b, g1(x) ≤ y ≤ g2(x)
with g1 and g2 continuous on [a, b], then:

Double integral in polar coordinates
2-Double integrals in arbitrary regions.
Example:
Find the area enclosed by one loop of the rose r = cos (3θ )
Solution.
One loop is given by the region R = f (r; θ ) :-π/6 ≤ θ ≤ π/6 0 ≤ r ≤ cos (3θ )
as
