PRONOUNS
PRONOUNS
 are “noun substitutes” or words that refer to nouns.

 Use to replace a noun in a sentence


 Example:

Maria is beautiful.

She is beautiful.

Maria is beautiful. Maria has a long hair and Maria


loves to eat fruits. Maria’s puppy named Oreo.

Maria is beautiful. She has a long hair and she loves


to eat fruits. Her puppy named Oreo.
CASES OF PRONOUNS
- Tells how the pronoun is used

a. Nominative/Subjective
– the doer of the action or the one being talked about.

b. Objective – the receiver of the action

c. Possessive – the one that shows ownership

1. NOMINATIVE/SUBJECTIVE PRONOUN
The pronouns I , you , he, she, it, we, they are use as subjects.
They are generally found:

 before verbs ( either linking or action verbs)

Ex: She is very friendly.

We like to watch television.

2. OBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
The pronouns me, you, him, her, it, us and them are use
as objective pronoun in a sentence.
