•More than 1 billion people around the world using it every month.
•In November 2007 version 2.0 of google maps was launched for mobile.
•First android app launched in 2008 and iOS app in 2012.

Cons:
•Sometimes navigation does not work well in certain places for example in city area.

•Criminals can use street view for identifying objects or location and perform illegal activity.

•Road closures or construction works not always highlighted exactly

Paid vs Unpaid version:

•All features of google maps are free for regular users.

•Google maps platform is a paid version which is available for developers to embed google maps in
mobile apps and web pages or retrieve data from maps.

Apple Maps………
Overview:
•Apple Maps (or simply Maps) is a web mapping service developed by Apple.
•Default map system of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
•Initially released in 2012
•Used to have a lot of issues with inaccuracies of navigation but has had major
improvements over the years.

Pros and Cons of Apple Maps
Pros:
•Siri’s integration with Apple Maps is a unique feature for iOS. .
•Better integration with Apple native apps: suggestions for scheduling and upcoming events for which
users may need to travel
•Ability to send ETA to contacts in address book
•The app will not record history of the places you search for.
•Apple uses data from Yelp to provide information about destinations. Apple also pairs with OpenTable
to let you make bookings online.
Cons:
•Apple Maps just isn’t as robust and can be inaccurate.
•Does not have route planning option for cycling
•Short list of search results is provided by Apple Maps

•This app adds truck routing feature.
•Defines all the routes for truck in the same app.
•Like other apps such as google maps.
•There is an option for selecting the mode of transport for everything, but not for trucks.
•This app has the feature of allowing to select the type of truck and then route accordingly.
Benefits
•Truck drivers do not have to by separate navigation system for trucks.
•All the mode of transportation is available in one app.
•It will show especially to the truck drivers the exact traffic condition and waiting times.

•There will be different languages available to choose from such as Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, English,
French, Korean and so on.
•Allows non-English speaker to easily use this app.

•People from non-English speaking background can also use this app.
•If they face in understanding the instruction in English, they can simply change their preference of
language.
•People from different nation can use this app in their country as well.
