WHAT IS LISTENING?
• Listening is psychological process which involves analyzing
the sounds, organizing them into recognizable
patterns, interpreting the patterns and understanding the
message by inferring the meaning

STAGES :
 RECEIVING: It refers to the response caused by sound waves stimulating
the sensory receptors of the ear.
 DECODING: It is the stage where you interpret the speaker’s message.
 REMEMBERING: It is the stage at which we not only receive and interpret speaker’s
message but also remember it.
 EVALUATING: It is the stage at which we judge messages in some way.
 RESPONDING: The receiver complete the process through verbal or non verbal
feedback.
