Info
The UN operates by working to prevent conflict; helping parties in conflict make
peace; peacekeeping; and creating the conditions to allow peace to hold and
flourish.

The UN Security Council has the primary responsibility for international peace and
security. There are 15 members and the main 5 permanent members are China,
France, the Russian federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These
are the permanent members because these members were the victors of World
War II. The ten non-permanent are Estonia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Niger,
Norway, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia, and Vietnam.
What Countries Get A Veto Over All Proposals And

All five permanent members get the most veto power because they are the most
powerful countries at that time and because of their WW2 victories.

What has been the greatest achievement of the

United Nations to date?
The UN has been active in peacekeeping operations, especially since the 1990s.
The organization won the Nobel Peace Prize for its peacekeeping efforts in 1988.
A UN climate conference in 2015 produced the Paris Agreement. Signed by nearly
two hundred nations, the accord seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Do you think the United Nations should be kept or
abolished and why?
I believe the United Nations should be kept in power as long as they are actively
doing things to actually help progress other nations. Some may argue against it
saying that there are power imbalances and that the UN haven’t actually done
what they have been created for, and if that is the case, I believe it should be
abolished because what is it actually doing?
