POLITICAL GLOBALIZATION
 Political globalization can refer to the
increasing, shared, conviction that all
people should be governed by their own
consent and a rule of law.

 It may also refer to the increasing number of


inter-governmental organizations (IGO’s)
with global scope and the increasing
numbers of countries that participate in
those IGO’s.
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION
 The term is commonly used to refer to
intergovernmental organization or
groups that are primarily made up of
member-states.
 IO’s are actors in world politics.
 They are constituted by international law as
independent entities, separate from the states
that make them up as their founders and their
members.
The League of Nations, 1920

 The League of Nations was an international


organization, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland,
created after the First World War to provide a forum for
resolving international disputes.
 Though first proposed by President Woodrow Wilson as
part of his Fourteen Points plan for an equitable peace
in Europe, the United States never became a member.

United Nations

 The United Nations is an


intergovernmental organization that aims
to maintain international peace and
security, develop friendly relations among
nations, achieve international
cooperation, and be a centre for
harmonizing the actions of nations.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY

● The General Assembly is


the most representative of
the organs of United
Nations. It consist of all the
members of the United
Nations.
● Universal representation
(193 members)
● The General Assembly
decides on essential
questions with a simple
majority

ensuring international
peace and security,
recommending the

members to the General
Assembly, and

 Concept of globalization is not at

 Concept of internationalism is based
on state level.
 Nationalism promotes sense of self
superiority, but internationalism
promotes international cooperation.
