The Aquatic Ecosystem
It is found in water.
It is known that about 97% of the world’s
surface is composed of water.
This is subdivided into two kinds- the marine
ecosytem and the freshwater ecosystem.
The Marine Ecosystem
The marine ecosystem is in the region
where water is salty like that of the ocean
and sea.
Animals such as dolphins, whales, corals
and shellfish are some of the animals that
live in this kind of ecosystem.
Plants and algae are also found in this
ecosystem.
The freshwater ecosystem includes ponds,
lakes, rivers and streams.
Water animals such as hito (catfish) and
bangus (mailkfish) are found in these
places.
Crocodiles and frogs are also found near
some lakes and ponds.
The Terrestrial Ecosystem
Terrestrial ecosystems are ecosystem that
are found primarily on land.
Terrestrial ecosystem includes forests,
grasslands and deserts.
Forests are usually characterized by diverse
plants, including tall trees and climbing
plants.
Grassland is usually dominated by grasses
with few trees or shrubs.
Many animals live in this kind of ecosystem.
These include grazing animals such as
goats and cows.
Insects such as grasshoppers, beetles and
ants are also found in these areas.
