 1. Local – located or existing
nearby; relating to or occurring
in a particular area, city or
town.
 2. Material – something used

in doing something; the

elements, substances of which
something is made.
What could it be?
Bamboo

Paper
Stones
Wood
Shells
The Bamboo
The Bamboo is a woody plant with a
hollow stem that's in the grass family.
When bamboo is harvested and processed,
it can be used to make things like
flooring, paper, and chopsticks. Many
products are made from bamboo in part
because it's one of the fastest-growing
plants in the world. Bamboo is originally
from the Dutch bamboe, which in turn
comes from the Portuguese bambu. The
root is thought to be the Malay word
samambu.
Example:
Feathers
A feather is one of the soft, fringed
plumes that cover the bodies of birds.
Some feathers are tiny and downy,
while others are large and brilliantly
colored. When these feathers are use
in arts it can form many beautiful craft
– such as head dresses, mask, a dress,
a design. It is really up to you on how
you use your creativity.
Example:
Paper
The Paper is the thin, flexible material you
doodle on during math class. It is also the
paper that you fold carefully into the shape of
an airplane before launching it across the
classroom. If you've ever ripped a sheet of
paper or crumpled one into a ball, it might be
hard to believe that it comes from trees —
wood pulp, to be exact. You might, for
example, decide to paper your bedroom walls
with colorful pieces of paper.
Example:
Stones
Stones are commonly used to
build walls and buildings.
Sculptures are carved from stone,
and patios and garden walls are
constructed of individual stones.
Sometimes a valuable gem is
colloquially called a stone.
Example:
Wood
The Wood has long been used as an
artistic medium. It has been used to
make sculptures and carvings for
millennia. Other uses of wood in the
arts include: Woodcut printmaking and
engraving, Wood can be a surface to
paint on, such as in panel painting,
Many musical instruments are made
mostly or entirely of wood
Example:
Shells
A shell is the hard or tough often
thin outer covering of aquatic
animals. These materials are locally
present in beaches and some
rivers. Collectors of such things
make a great crafts; it may be
necklace, bracelet, frames, curtains
etc.
