A. Teachings Brought by the Prophet Muhammad
 The prophet Muhammad received the first revelation after
becoming a prophet. The main of teachings of Islam are Aqidah
(belief), Syariah (rules of Allah) and Akhlaq (attitude).
 Six beliefs of Islam is:
 Tawhid
 Malaikah
 Belief in the authority of holy books
 Nubuwwah and Risalah – belief in the prophets
 Belief in the Day of Judgement
 Al-Qadr – belief in predestination
 The prophet (peace be upon him) also
said Islam is upheld by five pillars: first, to
bear witness that there is no God but Allah
and that Muhammad is His messenger.
The second is to pray regularly five times
in a day. Third, to pay zakat (i.e divine tax)
to the poor. Fourth, to fast during the
mouth of Ramadhan. Fifth, to visit the
house of God in Mecca once in a lifetime,
for those who are able to make the
journey.
1. Al-Qur’an of the Prophet Muhammad
The Quran is the book of Allah. Every word of the Quran is
the word of Allah. It is a book of Guidance.
Al-Sayyid, Khalid and Muhammad gave detailed
meanings of the word al-Qur'an. One of such meanings is
thus: The words of Allah sent down to Prophet Muhammad
through the intermediary of angel Gabriel (AS) composed
in the hearts of men, written in the book, transmitted to us
in continuity, whose recitation is worship, beginning with
chapter one and ending with chapter 114.
2. Al-Hadits of the Prophet Muhammad
The word Hadith is singular and means Kalaam (speech). The
plural is Ahaadith.
according to the Fuqaha, the definition of Hadith is: The
knowledge through which the sayings, the actions, the conditions
and confirmations of Rasulullah [SAW] are known.
The definition of Hadith according to the Muhadditheen is: The
knowledge of the sayings of Rasulullah [SAW], his actions,
conditions, acknowledgements of actions and that of his Sahaba
[Radhiyallahu 'anhum] and those beyond them (who are followed
inDeen).
