• Samuel Langhorne CleJane Lampton Clemens
known by his pen name Mark Twain, was born on
November 30, 1835, in Florida, Missouri, United
States
• He was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur,
publisher, riverboat, pilot, lecturer and inventor.
• Wrote the novels 'Adventures of Tom Sawyer' and
'Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.’
• He was lauded as the "greatest humorist the United
States has produced," and William Faulkner called
him "the father of American literature".
• Fourth child of John Marshall Clemens and Jane
Lampson Clemens
• Died on April 21, 1910

*Mark Twain’s humor is based on the humor of the Western in
America.
*He used a lot of colloquial idioms and colloquial syntax.
*He often described persons who was innocent,simple,naive,
and ignorant as his heroes or heroines.
*He used the artistic style of hyperbole on the basis of
the western traditional humor and made his writing full of
allegories that lay behind the humor.

However, a doctor saves Jim’s life by telling the mob that
Jim was helping save Tom Sawyer’s life . They also all find
out that Miss Watson died two months ago and in her will
set Jim free. In the end , Jim tells Huck that his father died
on the steam boat and Huck decides to go west to seek more
adventures.
