Define lead –acid cells
 Lead-acid cell was invented by Raymond
plante of France in 1860. a lead-cell consist of
two plates immersed in a electrolyte, both
plates comprise of a lead alloy grid that binds
the active chemical material and conduct the
current.

Positive and negative plates
 In actual cell there are more than two plates
and there are intervalves so that each positive
plate has a negative plate on either side.
Because a greater negative greater plate area is
required, there is always an odd number of
plates with one more negative plate than
positive plates.
