 Thesis
• All around the world, food serves as the
medium through which individuals relate back
to a sense of security and comfort generally
attributed to the home; the provided sense of
protection and familiarity with ones
surroundings is a factor in reduced mental
illnesses or psychological difficulty.

 Activity List
1. Discuss major ingredients used in specific cuisines around the world. Then have
a blind taste test and see if the class can identify the food’s region.
2. Engage the class in a competitive game-like challenge. Class will be split into two
teams and I will quiz them based on names of specific foods I have mentioned in
the PowerPoint. The ones to win get two sugar cookies. The ones to lose get
one.
3. Read a creative story about cultural food to the class. The main character will be
a secret ingredient, and the plot of the story will build up to a climax. The main
goal of our main character is to be accepted by his friends and be incorporated
into a yummy dish. Which I will prepare for the class.
