• Dean’s Letter
• Medical School Transcript
• Written Personal Statement
• Three letters of recommendation (at least two of these should be from members of the Department of
Internal Medicine at your school, affiliate, hospital or elective course, and current within the last 12
months)
• United States Medical License Examination (USMLE) Scores Part I and Part II
• Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification (if applicable)
• Graduated from a U.S. or Foreign Medical School within the last two (2) years
• USMLE Steps I and II (CS and CK) Passage with minimum score of 220 (Highly favored if Part III
passed as well) - No failures at any level
• J-1 visa sponsorship considered on a case-by-case basis

St Vincent Charity Medical Center Program

• The Program prefers candidates that have passed each step of the USMLE
on the first attempt with scores that meet or exceed the average score of 225
• within the last five (5) years (a graduation date no earlier than 2015).
• The Program requires all Foreign Medical Candidates to be certified with
the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) at
the time of application submission.
• we sponsor H1B and J1 visas.
• We review all scores but prefer a three-digit score of 215.0 or greater.
Akron General Medical Center/NEOMED Program

•  You will not need to have ECFMG certification when applying
but will need it to be certified for the match. We prefer to
interview candidates who have graduated from medical
school within the last 5 years
• International graduates are encouraged to apply.
Canton Medical Education Foundation/NEOMED Program

• Applicants with J1 or H1B visas will be eligible for admission to


the programs
• ECFMG certificate. 
• Although we do require your USMLE transcript before granting
an interview, we do not require full ECFMG certification prior to
an interview being offered.
• We give preference to applicants with passing scores on
the first attempt on ALL steps (i.e. no failures).

Western Reserve Hospital Program

• Apply via ERAS no later than November 1st. 
• We accept 5 interns per year. 
• The Internal Medicine NRMP code is 2179140C0.
• The program requires a passing score for USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Step 1;
multiple attempts are accepted.
• We do not have a cut off year since graduation. 
• We do not require US clinical experience.
• We accept J1 visas only. We do not pay to sponsor visas.
• We require 2 letters of recommendation. A Chair's letter is not required.
