Bahagi ng Talayan Creek sa G. Araneta, tambak ng basura

▪ The members of  Quezon City Riverways Clearing Operations Group are

thoroughly cleaning the pile of junks at Talayan Creek.
▪ They started cleaning early along G. Araneta.
▪ The team leader of the group, Teresita Agustin, is asking everyone to at
least show some concern for the environment as they are doing their
best to preserve cleanliness in their environment. She also said that
they should learn how to throw garbage into a proper container, where
garbage should be placed.
▪ According to Agustin, the place were cleaned wherea they hauled over
850 sacks of garbage but when they returned the other day the creek
was full again.
REPUBLIC ACT 9003 ECOLOGICAL SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 2000

▪ The Republic Act (RA) 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid
Waste Management Act of 2000, provides the necessary policy
framework, institutional mechanisms and mandate to the local
government unites (LGUs) to achieve 25% waste reduction through
establishing an integrated solid waste management plans based on
3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycling).
▪ This act is appropriate for the situation stated in the news as the
problem is the proper waste management. It gives knowledge on
how to segregate the wastes properly. It reduces environmental
pollution. This act also ensures the protection of public health and
environment.
