With the support of GIZ-AEDB, PEDO has introduced the digital MHP datalogger

remote monitoring system locally made by BITSYM at SRSP Micro Hydro sites in Swat.
Are you looking for your realistic MHP plant data?

 How many hours MHPs remains operational

 What is load and how many units of energy supplied
 What is the power factor and Plant load or capacity
factor
 What is the load pattern as per your required interval
 How is the past data log sheet looks on (5min, hourly,
daily, weekly, monthly and yearly interval) download
and saved
 What is current performance by access it remotely
from anywhere

LALKOO 150 kW MHP SWAT

JUNE DATA LOG RESULTS

Total Energy Production 29005 kWh Daily 966 kWh
Operational Hours (out of 720 489 hours Daily 16.3 hours
hours)
Average load 59.4 kW Peak 67 kW
Plant factor at current scenario 26.8 % If runs 24 hours daily can
improved to 39.6 %

General Observation
Mostly MHPs runs under frequency might be due to:
• Enough water is not available!!!
• Operator is opening the gate valve to allow sufficient water for maintain required demand about 80
kW at night and frequency!!!
• Operator is avoiding to run the MHP at higher load as belts needs to be replaced frequently and
heating up
• Or operator is alone and is not so sure about the stability of ELC therefore keep running the MHP at
minimum condition.
• The ELC has installed for two main purpose one is stabilize MHP and other is supply quality of
electricity to consumer (maintained voltages, frequency at 50 Hz)
• This might be reason that ELC adjusted not to disconnect village supply even when the frequency is so
low of less than 45 Hz.
