Formal Language:
• It is less personal than informal language.
• It can be found in disciplines as computer
languages, mathematics and logic.
• Follows more strict rules and syntax.
• Formal language is used in serious situations such as:
• job interviews
• important emails
• official documents
• books
• essays for school
• official speeches. 
Informal Language

• It is casual and spontaneous.


• It is used with friends and
family
• both in writing (texting) and
conversation
• It is generally simple
• It makes use of:
• Contractions
• Phrasal verbs
• Slang
• First Person Pronouns
• Abbreviations
• Everyday phrases
