What is the Cav Awards?

 The Cav Award is a monthly acknowledgment for staff members who go above
and beyond for the Caroline community, showing fellow staff and community
members the greatness that is happening in our building every day.
 Our goal is to highlight our strengths, our passion, and the work that our staff
pours into keeping the school running throughout what is likely the most
challenging school year we have ever faced.
Who decides the award recipients?

 CHS staff can fill out a recommendation form each month for staff they think best fit the month’s
theme.
 The Cav Awards Committee will collect these recommendations, as well as adding their own
feedback, and use this information to select the recipient of the award each month.
 The committee is comprised of voices from all throughout the school, including office staff,
administration, instructional assistants, special ed, core teachers, and elective teachers. The
goal is to have a committee that is balanced and has a wide range of communication
throughout the building.

Who is eligible for the Cav Award?

 All CHS staff are eligible to win the Cav Award, whether full-time or part-time.
All parts of our team make the school what it is and should have the opportunity
to be acknowledged for what they contribute to the CHS community.
 Staff that are part of the committee are only eligible for recognition up to once a
semester, which they accept as they take on the role of committee member.
What does the Cav Award recipient get?

 Recipients of the award will receive tokens of appreciation for their hard work supporting CHS and being
exemplars of each months’ theme. They will receive:
 A CHS shirt
 A Gift Card or Gift Items (donated from local businesses)
 A parking space at the front of the school
 An Interview video that will be shared with staff and the community
What criteria will be used to select staff?

 Recipients of the award will be selected based on
a rotating set of themes determined by the
committee. The idea is that each month will be
themed around a trait or aspect of what strengths
help make CHS a wonderful, thriving learning
community.
 Themes should be open-ended enough that all
staff are eligible to receive them – not just
teachers.
 Possible themes can include:
 Lifelong Learning Exemplar
 Teamwork (Master Team Player)
 Mentorship
 Innovation
 And many other themes suggested by
committee (or surveyed from staff!)
How will the Cav Award be announced?

 Staff-wide E-mail
 Announcements (students should know who are star staff are!)
 Announced at Staff Meeting
 Social Media
