2nd Grade English Language Arts & Reading Assignment Objectives • Establish the purpose of reading Where the Wild Things Are. • Think and answer questions before, during, and after reading/ listening to the story. • Make and correct or confirm predictions during/ after reading/ listening to the story. • Create your own “Max” and write a short paragraph about a time you felt like a wild thing. Why do you think we are reading “Where the Wild Things Are”? • Click on the link below and answer the first question in the Google Form. Google Form • Keep the form up to answer the other questions during and after the reading! “Where the Wild Things Are” Read Aloud Create your own “Max”! • For this assignment, grab some crayons, colored pencils, markers, whatever you can find around your house and make your own Max in his wolf suit! • After creating your “Max”, write a short paragraph about a time you felt like a wild thing. Did you have a “wild rumpus” like Max and the Wild things in the story? Or did you feel like you could do anything, and no one could tell you no? Upload it to Google Classroom! • Once your “Max” and short paragraph are finished, snap a picture and upload it to the assignment feed on Google Classroom. • If you haven’t already, complete the rest of the Google Form with the questions about the story and submit it. • After that, go ahead and take a look at some of your classmates’ “Max” and their story of a time they felt like a wild thing. Commenting is optional but should be positive. • I will take a look at your assignment and send you a private message through Google Classroom with your grade and any comments!
