WHAT IS CULTURE?
 Is one of the important bases that define and
influence a society
 refers to the sets of beliefs, ideas values,
practices, knowledge, history, and shared
experiences, attitudes.
WHAT IS SOCIETY?

 Is a group of individuals sharing a common


culture, geographical location, and government
 enables individuals to acquire necessary survival
skills, maximize their potential, and share
resources
 states that society is “ that complex whole
which encompasses beliefs, practices, values,
attitudes, laws, norms, artifacts, symbols,
knowledge, and everything that a person
learns and shares as member of society”( E. B
Taylor)
 There can be no culture without a society and
so far there are no known human societies
that do not exhibit (Haviland)
WHAT IS POLITICS?

 Refers to the “ theory, art, and practice of


government.”
 The political institution is a relatively stable
cluster of statuses, general norms, and role
behavior, which are involved in the acquisition
and exercise of society of wide power and
making decision (Turner)
