INTRODUCTION

• Nowadays more disease and change in temperature have evolved. These led to use of hot water or cold water. Which retain these temperatures is thermoflask.

• So we came up with an idea of using plastic instead of stainless steel in flask.

• Main aim is to prove that a plastic material can be substituted for stainless steel.

• We changed the raw material from ultem to terylene .

OBJECTIVE

1. To discuss how thermoflask is made with plastic as substitute.

2. To calculate the thermal conductivity of terylene even the work life of it.
ABOUT TERYLENE

• It is a type of synthetic polyester fiber material. Produced by polymerizing ethylene glycol and terephthelic acid.

• Strong fiber and suffer little strength loss when its wet.

• All terylene are food graded where it is extensively used to make water bottles.

• Main properties of terylene: They absorb very little water and hence dry quickly. Even resistant at higher temperatures.

• Melting point is 260 C.

• BPA free.
METHODOLOGY OF MAKING INNER BOTTLE

Collection of raw
materials and
powdering.

Powdering by
crushing.

powders by furnace

Pouring the mold for

injection molding that has
bottle shape die.

the bottle is thrown out
from die.
METHODOLOGY OF MAKING OUTER BOTTLE

Cutting a SS 304
pipe.

Expanding the pipe

into shape of bottle
by water pressure.

Making a thread on
cap surface.

product.

EXPERIMENTS GOING TO BE DONE

• We need to measure the thermal conductivity of material. The experiment we are using here is heat flow meters.

• After assembling the products we are going to measure the life of the bottle. We are going to pour hot water for repeated times and we are going to measure by
that.

• Even we are going to measure the time duration of temperature.

STATUS OF OUR EXPERIMENT

• We have collected the raw material.

• Cushing of raw material .
