VERTICAL GREEN BUILDING SPACE

OBJECTIVE: PAKISTAN HAS NO DEDICATED VERTICAL GREEN

SPACE. THE AIM IS TO CREATE A GREEN SKYSCRAPER WHICH IS
ENERGY EFFICIENT AND HELPS IN BENEFIT THE OVERALL
ENVIRONMENT. IT ADDRESSES 3 MAJOR PROBLEMS WHICH ARE
PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND CLIMATIC.
WHAT IS VERTCAL GREEN BUILDING?

Vertical Green Building involves a building which incorporates environmental

considerations into every stage of the building construction with the objectives to
protect occupant health, improve employee productivity, use wisely natural
resources and reduce the environmental impact.
WHY IS IT ECONOMICALLY SUSTAINABLE?

Vertical greening systems are taking much more importance in the last decade
because of the different benefits they provide, not only environmentally or
aesthetically but also economically by providing energy savings and materials
protection at building scale, or increasing the building real estate value, due to the
aesthetic contribution.
HOW DOES IT HELP CURTAIL CLIMATE CHANGE?

Vertical greening systems can provide several environmental benefits in urban

areas, mitigating the urban heat island effect, fostering biodiversity, and
improving building envelope performances, mainly thanks to plants cooling
capacity. The different vertical greening systems, green facades and living wall
systems, besides aesthetic characteristics, entail different environmental costs.
