TOURISM
?
Tourism is defined as the activities of
persons traveling to and staying in places
outside their usual environment for not
than one concecutive year for leisure,
bussines and other purposes also called
visitors.

1. VISITORS

a visitor is someone who is making a visit to a


main destination outside his/her usual
environment for less than a year for any main
purpose [including] holidays, leisure and
recreation, business, health, education or other
purpose.
Kind of visitors

1. Bussines and Professionals tourist, including bussines


tourist, education tourist, health and medical tourist.
2. Leisure and holiday tourist, including adventure tourist,
ecotourist, cultural tourist.
3. Tourists traveling to visit friends and relatives (VFR)
4. Youth tourist, including backpackers and gap years
travelers.

1. Traveller Generating Region (TGR)
Places when the trips begin. Tourist tries to seek information, goes for
reservations and makes the departure.
2. Transit route region (TR)
Also called as Intermediate Zone. Not simply represent shord period of
travel to rech but also includes intermediate places which may be visited
enroute. According to Leiper, ‘there is always an interval in a trip when
the traveller feels they have left their home region but have not yet
arrived. Where they chose to visit’.
3. Tourist Destination Region (TDR)
Represents the ‘Sharp end’ of tourism

directly or inderectly cater the needs of the tourist or
visitors.
