INTRODUCTION
This experiment has been done for us to understand and apply
the principle of movement of substances across the plasma
membrane in everyday life. Example can be taken by when we
make this pickle mango and seal it nicely for it to be sold
to people that are interested in eating pickles. We use
unripe mango as our main ingredient and add salt, sugar and
lime water as the preservative.
OBJECTIVES

APPARATUS AND MATERIALS
● Knife​
● Cutting board​
● Mango​
● Sugar​
● Salt​
● Container
● Lime water
INGREDIENTS Lime powder

PROCEDURE
1. Take out the main ingredient (mangoes) wash it and then slice it.
2. The image after slice it.
3. Fill the mangoes slices in a jar and add approximately 1 table spoon of salt to one large
jar as in the picture below. Soak overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, evaporate the
water.
4.Put the mangoes back in the jar. Make lime water. Take 1/2 tablespoon of lime and mix
with water. The estimated amount of water sinks the fruit. Pour into jars. Soak for 6 hours.
5. Take mangoes that have been soaked in lime water, wash clean and drain the water. Put
in a jar and add a lot of sugar. It doesn't matter if the mango does not sink because later the
fruit will water on its own. After that, put 3 cups of water in the jar.
RESULTS

The pickles tastes sour, crunchy outside and soft inside!

Conclusion
At the end of this experiment, the objectives were accomplished and the pickles got sold
out. Experiment went well and no error founded. We ALSO got to know more about the
osmosis process that we learned in class.
