REGULAR VERBS - SPELLING

1) Double the consonant if the word ends in consonant + vowel + consonant


stop – stopped
swap - swapped

2) Add only –d, when the verb ends with –e


love – loved
save – saved

3) Verbs ending in 'y' preceded by a consonant: Change 'y' to 'i' Then add -ed.
