CLASSROOMS • Considering age restrictions, for a class of
young adults, I would use Twitter for an ESL
reading activity shown as follows:
 • Students will be able to read a book of their
PICK A BOOK choice.
CREATE A • Students will be assigned to create a Twitter
account with their name, photo, and summary
TWITTER of who they are (bio) if they don’t already have
ACCOUNT one.
CONNECT • Students don’t have to wait for tweeters to find
WITH THEIR them. They will be encouraged to find their

 • Students will be instructed to tweet their

they’ve just read. They will tweet about each

 • Since social media can be distracting, students
